Summary:

Responsible for overseeing on-site operations and monitoring location performance related to financial assistance programs and patient volumes. Tracks and analyzes call center dashboards to ensure key performance metrics are achieved. Provides financial assistance services to patients and their families, including guidance on Medicaid/Charity Care eligibility and program requirements. Assists applicants with completing required documentation, understanding eligibility criteria, and navigating Medicaid/Charity Care guidelines. Collects payments from patients and third-party payers to support the timely recovery of outstanding accounts receivable and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Principal Accountabilities:
•    Run reports to monitor departmental performance.
•    Conducts staff meetings, 1:1s with team members regularly.
•    Attends meetings related to the department.
•    Monitors the call center dashboard. 
•    Takes inbound calls and makes out bound follow-up calls.
•    Reviews calls for accuracy and customer service expectations.
•    Obtains and documents patient demographic/financial information. 
•    Screens patient for NJ Medicaid/Charity Care programs and completes the application for submission to the State/County.
•    Follows up with patient or family members to complete the NJ Medicaid/Charity Care application.
•    Processes incoming mail received from patients.
•    Completes presumptive eligibility (PE) for eligible patients.
•    Verifies insurance eligibility when applicable. Inform patients of payment options and financial assistance opportunities. 
•    Collects deposits for Self-Pay patients when applicable.
•    Advocates for patients by negotiating payment arrangements. 
•    Prepares payment estimates based on treatment plans and insurance information such as deductibles, co-pay, etc. 
•    Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. 
•    Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. 
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.
•    Assist with other locations as needed.
 

 

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

5+ years in financial assistance field or relevant fields

Epic Knowledge

Microsoft Office

Bilingual in Spanish
