Government Relations Manager

The Government Relations Manager - Europe will play an important role in advocating for the policy interests across governments in Europe and within industry groups. The Government Relations Manager will be a strategic thinker with an understanding of regulatory environments and the ability to develop and implement advocacy strategies that protect and promote the company's business interests and growth. The Government Relations Manager will sow expertise in interactions with government officials, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.

LOCATION: Brussels, Belgium

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Advocacy and Representation: 

o    Support relationships with key stakeholders to influence policy and regulatory decisions. 

o    Support advocacy for the company on legislative and regulatory issues. 

Regulatory Analysis and Strategy: 

o    Monitor and analyze regulatory changes in key geographies where the company operates. 

o    Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the company's operations and business strategy. 

o    Help implement advocacy strategies to address trade challenges and opportunities. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

o    Communicate regulatory and legislative developments to internal stakeholders. 

o    Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations on government relations activities. 

o    Support the government relations team on other specified projects as needed. 

Industry Engagement: 

o    Participate in industry associations and coalitions to advance the company's interests.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

•Minimum 7 years of related work experience.

•Good understanding of regulatory processes and government structures. 

•Proactive, decisive and able to work independently on a broad variety of subjects.

•Strong detailed orientation and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

•Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, which includes ability to remain objective and use discretion in all situations.

•Highly collaborative and team oriented, able to build relationships at all levels of the organization. 

•Resourceful, with a problem-solving aptitude, and ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations while managing confidential information appropriately and professionally.

Preferred Qualifications: 

•Preferred 10+ years of related work experience.

 

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in the fields of Political Science, Public Policy, or Law)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•    No Special Physical Requirements

TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED 

•    Occasional travel
