McLeod Sports Medicine has an opening for a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for daily practice and game coverage including management of injuries, organization and administration, implementation of sport performance programming, and record keeping. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will have the opportunity to provide outreach services to club, city recreation, or collegiate teams as well.
The Athletic Trainer will be part of the sports medicine team following policies and procedures and working under the direction of our medical director. McLeod Sports Medicine employs a team of 25 athletic trainers. Athletic Trainer must be able to work in a team setting and work in a progressive atmosphere.
Department Description
McLeod Sports Medicine is housed in a two-year old 25,000 square foot outpatient rehabilitation facility. Our orthopedic and sports therapy services are available for individuals with acute or chronic orthopedic and sports-related conditions.
Work Schedule: 80 Hours Bi-weekly. Full Time. This position will be assigned to Mullins High School in Mullins, SC.
Mullins High School is a 1A sized public high school in Mullins, SC with approximately 550 students (9th -12th grade). Mullins High School has 11 sports with 15 teams. They will play in Region 10 along with Virtus Academy, Coastal, Green Sea Floyds, Lake View, Latta, Marion High Schools. For 2026 season, Mullins Boys Basketball team is the Region VII Champions and #4 in SC AA.
Skills Required
- Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree, with certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.
- Must be eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina.
- CPR and AED certification also required.
