As a Security Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our AI and Machine Learning systems. You will collaborate with talented professionals to identify vulnerabilities, define security controls, and engineer tools that enhance our security posture. Job responsibilities

  • Design and deliver cybersecurity software solutions as part of an agile team
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate vulnerability analysis synthesis and security documentation, validating outputs and ensuring sensitive data is handled appropriately. 
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within SDLC/toolchain routines to strengthen security testing and control validation, ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to resiliency and security expectations. 
  • Conduct AI red teaming exercises and simulate adversarial attacks on LLMs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices
  • Develop and maintain code using Java and Python
  • Build and secure microservices and APIs
  • Implement cloud security controls using AWS, Azure, and infrastructure as code tools
  • Apply security architecture requirements across the model development lifecycle
  • Maintain and optimize SQL databases and stored procedures

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • Extensive experience in Java.
  • Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
  • Knowledge in Python development
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and services (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with API security and identity access management protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
  • Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Proficient in MySQL and SQL programming
  • Working knowledge of using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support security engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity. 
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted code/security recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following security and data handling requirements. 

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Certifications in cloud security or AI/ML security
  • Certifications as a cloud developer
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms and container orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of AI ethics and responsible AI practices
