Texas A&M University’s Department of Physics & Astronomy seeks an Administrative Coordinator I to provide comprehensive administrative support to the department. Working under general supervision, this role coordinates and supports a variety of departmental operations and administrative activities, exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance. The position serves as a key resource in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, supporting departmental initiatives, and helping maintain effective administrative processes and services.
Opportunities to Contribute
Plans, coordinates, and supports administrative operations, activities, and services to ensure efficient office functioning.
Develops, evaluates, and improves office procedures, services, and processes while ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
Analyzes programs, projects, and initiatives; monitors progress and timelines; and identifies issues and opportunities for improvement.
Recommends and implements process improvements, administrative enhancements, and new initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintains office resources, reference materials, supplies, and equipment to support daily operations.
Plans, coordinates, and facilitates meetings, seminars, and other special events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Planning and organization skills.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
