Accountabilities:
- Design and implement credit policies using proprietary and external data sources to improve lending decisions, pricing strategies, and product performance.
- Analyze credit risk trends, portfolio performance, and account activity to identify opportunities to reduce losses and improve risk management.
- Develop actionable recommendations and insights through advanced analytical approaches to support strategic business decisions.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and financial teams to develop and scale lending products across different markets and industries.
- Incorporate alternative data sources, including financial statements, banking information, credit bureau data, and other relevant signals into risk assessment models.
- Support the development and optimization of operational risk processes by partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and improve underwriting frameworks to ensure accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders while driving measurable improvements in credit performance.
- 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, lending, or credit risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and financial lending practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a rigorous, data-driven mindset.
- Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and delivering projects effectively.
- Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency with SQL, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to independently manage priorities and deliver results.
- Experience with quantitative tools such as Python, R, or Stata is preferred.
- Familiarity with credit scoring models, machine learning applications, and data science collaboration is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex insights clearly and influence decision-making.
- Competitive annual salary range of CA$124,000 – CA$186,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
