Accountabilities:
- Provide Level 2 support for VMware and/or OpenShift Virtualization platforms.
- Troubleshoot incidents and technical issues across VMware vSphere, vCenter, and equivalent virtualization environments.
- Support the design, implementation, and improvement of virtualization solutions.
- Monitor platform performance, capacity, availability, and overall system health.
- Identify opportunities to optimize virtualization environments and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with Level 3 engineers and other IT teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours operational support when required.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Support reliable system operations by following best practices for monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- 2+ years of professional experience working with VMware virtualization or OpenShift Virtualization.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, or comparable OpenShift virtualization components.
- Understanding of storage and networking concepts within virtualized environments.
- Experience troubleshooting virtualization platforms and resolving infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Knowledge of Veeam or similar backup technologies is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; German language skills are a plus.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage tasks from identification through resolution.
