As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management, infrastructure team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Follow best practices in SRE, DevOps, and observability to enhance platform health
- Analyze large volumes of structured, unstructured, and telemetry data to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable insights
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering environments
- Exposure to observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or CloudWatch
- Basic understanding of automation, operational tooling, and event-driven workflows and Foundational knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud architecture
- Experience leading teams in the safe use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment for reliability engineering workflows, including validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g., Cloud, AI, Android, etc.)
- Proficient with CI/CD practices and related tooling, container/container orchestration, and troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
- Ability to set and reinforce organization-level practices for reviewing AI-assisted recommendations and escalating uncertain decisions while maintaining resiliency, security, and auditability outcomes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, RDS, EKS)
- Experience with AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, or RAG-based systems
- Exposure to building operational tools such as chatbots or runbook automation
- Proficiency in Java and Python
- Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or other LLM APIs is a plus.
