Accountabilities:
- Own technical accounting research and prepare memos covering complex topics such as ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 470, stock-based compensation, and equity/financing transactions
- Lead global external audit coordination and act as the primary liaison with auditors across multiple entities
- Design and implement internal controls frameworks while supporting SOX readiness and compliance initiatives
- Oversee month-end close quality, ensuring GAAP compliance and identifying gaps or inconsistencies
- Manage multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, intercompany reconciliations, and transfer pricing compliance
- Map and optimize data flows between data warehouses and NetSuite, partnering with engineering to automate the financial close
- Build and enhance reconciliation frameworks bridging GAAP and management reporting
- Deploy automation and AI tools to reduce manual accounting work and improve efficiency
- Provide oversight to accounting operations including AP, AR, and cash management functions
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with readiness to operate at a senior leadership level
- Active CPA designation is required
- Experience in public company environments with exposure to complex, large-scale financial operations
- Proven track record of leading external audits as the primary point of contact
- Strong background in technical accounting and memo preparation across complex standards and transactions
- Experience designing internal controls and supporting SOX compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to build, optimize, or automate financial systems and processes
- Strong familiarity with data tools (SQL or equivalent) or willingness to develop these skills for independent analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is highly valued
- Strong automation mindset with comfort leveraging AI tools in finance workflows
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in travel, fintech, or marketplace environments, or IPO-readiness, is an asset
