Accountabilities:
- Develop and lead technical bid strategies for moderate to complex water treatment projects, including new systems, temporary treatment solutions, and long-term support opportunities.
- Review customer specifications, technical drawings, water analysis data, and engineering documentation to define project requirements and develop accurate proposals.
- Perform process calculations, equipment sizing, and design evaluations to ensure solutions meet performance requirements, cost targets, and delivery expectations.
- Identify technical risks, evaluate potential impacts, and develop mitigation strategies to support successful project execution.
- Facilitate the transition of awarded opportunities into project execution by validating technical scope, requirements, schedules, and warranty expectations.
- Collaborate directly with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to understand technical needs and communicate solution value.
- Provide technical guidance during customer discussions, negotiations, presentations, and industry events.
- Support the creation and improvement of costing tools, quotation processes, and engineering resources that increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Share customer insights and market feedback to identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
- Travel approximately 20% to customer sites, trade shows, and technical events to support relationship building and technical expertise visibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Chemical, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced water treatment process design or a related engineering field.
- Experience designing processes and performing equipment calculations for low-pressure membrane filtration and reverse osmosis systems.
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
- Experience working directly with municipal or industrial water treatment customers to understand technical challenges and develop solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while collaborating with sales, engineering, and customer teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel between Canada and the United States without legal restrictions.
- Preferred: Experience with related water treatment technologies such as dissolved air flotation, granular media filtration, clarifiers, lime softening, coagulation, de-gasification, ion exchange, solids handling, or UV treatment.
