Business Development Specialist
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Marsh Benefits Business Development Team. This role will be based in Bangkok, Thailand. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office
We will count on you to:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the employee benefits insurance market.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to achieve individual and team new business targets.
Engage with prospective clients to understand their business needs, employee benefit challenges and insurance requirements.
Prepare and deliver professional proposals, presentations and insurance solutions to prospective clients.
Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain competitive quotations, terms and conditions for clients.
Negotiate premiums, benefits and commercial terms with insurers to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
Maintain strong relationships with insurance companies, key market contacts and prospective clients.
Work closely with internal broking, consulting and servicing teams to ensure a smooth transition from new business acquisition to implementation.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities and new employee benefits solutions to identify business opportunities.
Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and opportunity updates in the relevant company systems.
Represent Mercer Marsh Benefits professionally at client meetings, networking events and industry activities.
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Insurance, Finance or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in the insurance market, preferably within an insurance brokerage firm.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in group employee benefits insurance, including group life, accident, disability and medical insurance.
Proven experience in new business sales and business development, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
Established relationships with insurance companies and key contacts within the Thailand insurance market.
Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting considerations, market practices and quotation processes.
Strong negotiation, presentation and client relationship management skills.
Professional personality with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commercially minded, proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities within tight timelines.
Good command of written and spoken English.
