This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence & Analysis. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a wide range of intelligence operation duties related to the application of the basic operational and technical aspects of intelligence collection and its dissemination methods and techniques to analyze and address complex problems and issues faced by DHS. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position. As a Intelligence Operations Specialist (Senior Departmental Requirements Officer), GS-0132-14, your typical work assignments may include: Assists Collection Requirements Managers and their applicable customers and stakeholders - DHS I&A analysts, DHS IE Analysts, Component intelligence officers, I&A field intelligence officers, and State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SL Tn partners - in creating and/or refining geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) collection requirements and strategies to satisfy intelligence gaps. Prepares reports - including briefings, memoranda, white papers, or other material to prepare division or organizational leadership engagements, as requested - addressing multiple factors impacting GEOINT collection. Organizes and leads forums to gather GEOINT and Homeland Security stakeholders across the Department and IC to facilitate coordination and communication of latest developments. Identifies trends or developments in collection performance, and works with DRO teammates, DHS IE Collection Requirements Managers, and/or GEOINT interagency stakeholders to propose new technical or procedural improvements. Leads training and engagement to ensure team's familiarity with and functional understanding of legal and administrative requirements necessary for the adjudication of imagery requirements and associated PED.
