About the Role:

The Compliance Assurance Analyst is a member of the Second Line Assurance organisation, reporting to the Senior Assurance Manager. This role is primarily focused on supporting assurance activities for Remitly Europe Limited (REL), Remitly's Central Bank of Ireland-regulated entity, and requires direct engagement with the regulatory environment governed by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). The role independently leads second line assurance engagements from planning through reporting, evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls across REL's compliance and operational risk environment. Working closely with senior members of the second line assurance organization and cross-functional partners in Dublin and across the global organisation, this role plays a central part in advancing REL's Annual Testing Plan priorities and supporting the company's ongoing obligations to the CBI.

You Will:

  • Independently lead second line compliance assurance engagements for REL end-to-end — from scoping and planning through fieldwork, findings development, and reporting.
  • Design and execute risk-based test procedures, including sample-based control testing, process walkthroughs, and documentation reviews, to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified control gaps and develop practical, risk-aligned recommendations for remediation.
  • Prepare and own engagement deliverables including scope documents, test plans, workpapers, findings memos, and final assurance reports to a standard suitable for senior management and regulatory review.
  • Maintain working knowledge of REL's regulatory obligations under the Central Bank of Ireland's framework, including applicable CBI requirements and expectations for second line assurance functions within regulated financial services entities.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with REL business owners, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other cross-functional partners to ensure assurance activities are well-informed and findings are clearly communicated.
  • Support engagement management including tracking open items, monitoring remediation progress, and following up on management action plans.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement assurance methodology, tooling, and testing approaches.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Internal Audit, Compliance, Second Line of Defense Testing, or Quality Assurance within a financial services company, Fintech, or consulting firm, with demonstrated experience independently leading engagements or workstreams.
  • Direct experience or strong familiarity with the Central Bank of Ireland's regulatory framework and expectations for regulated entities, including experience operating within or supporting a CBI-regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to manage the full testing cycle independently — scoping, fieldwork, documentation, findings, and reporting — while supporting multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of control design and operating effectiveness testing, root cause analysis, and the development of risk-aligned remediation recommendations.
  • Experience with process mapping and the design and analysis of end-to-end processes, systems, and organizational controls.
  • Solid experience with compliance, technology, or regulatory testing projects, with comfort navigating complex regulatory and operational environments.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured workpapers and reports appropriate for senior management and regulatory audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with demonstrated interest in technology, financial services, and compliance risk.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft PowerPoint and flowcharting tools such as Lucidchart or Visio.
  • Comfort working with advanced tools and technologies, including AI-assisted testing platforms and automated compliance testing tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Anti-Money Laundering / Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Consumer Protection, Consumer Fraud compliance, or payment services regulation within an EU or Irish regulatory context.
  • Familiarity with the CBI's Consumer Protection Code, Payment Services Directive (PSD2), or other regulatory frameworks applicable to e-money institutions or payment firms authorized in Ireland.
  • Relevant compliance or audit certifications such as CRCM, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or equivalent compliance or audit credentials.
  • Experience with data analytics and advanced tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, Snowflake, or AI-assisted testing and automation platforms.
