At Abbott, we are transforming how people access life-changing cardiac therapies. We are looking for a Regional Lead for Market Access & Health Economics (EMEA) to shape how our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) innovations reach patients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of strategy, healthcare policy, and commercial execution—partnering closely with regional leadership and influencing global direction.

About the role

As Regional Lead, you will define and drive the market access strategy across diverse healthcare systems, ensuring sustainable funding, reimbursement, and patient access for Abbott’s CRM portfolio.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, while enabling cross-country execution and innovation in access models.

What you’ll do

Shape regional access strategy

• Lead the EMEA market access strategy, translating global priorities into actionable country plans

• Define access pathways: reimbursement, coding, procurement, and evidence requirements

• Embed market access into short-, mid-, and long-term business planning

Influence leadership & global strategy

• Act as a key member of the regional leadership team

• Consolidate country insights to influence global decision-making

• Identify risks, opportunities, and critical access gaps across the region

Drive cross-functional execution

• Partner with commercial, medical, clinical, regulatory, and public affairs teams

• Coordinate HTA submissions and access initiatives across markets

• Establish governance, prioritization, and decision-making frameworks

Drive innovation in access

• Develop innovative access models (e.g., value-based agreements, new procurement approaches)

• Engage with payers, HTA bodies, policymakers, and professional societies

• Represent Abbott in industry and policy discussions

Build regional capabilities

• Coach and support local teams across EMEA

• Strengthen capabilities via training, tools, and best practice sharing

• Monitor policy changes, competitor activity, and reimbursement trends

Your experience

• 10–15+ years in market access, health economics, or pricing & reimbursement (MedTech)

• Experience at regional (EMEA) level or leading a large/complex market

• Strong expertise in HTA processes, hospital funding systems, DRGs, and tendering

• Proven experience influencing payers, policymakers, and senior stakeholders

You bring

• Strong business acumen and ability to link access strategy with commercial performance

• Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority

• Excellent communication skills—able to translate evidence into business impact

• A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge, innovate, and drive change

• High cultural agility across diverse markets

• Fluency in English (additional EMEA languages are a plus)

Working model & location

• Based in Zaventem (Belgium)

• Hybrid model: 4 days/week onsite

• Travel across EMEA: approx. 2–3 nights/month
