Safety and Occupational Health Specialist

This position serves as a Safety Officer for the Colorado River Service Unit, including a critical access hospital with an ambulatory clinic and four off site health centers. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Develops policies and procedures in various management areas to ensure the service unit complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Plan, implement, evaluate, and manage a comprehensive environmental health and safety program to conduct a safety and industrial hygiene program for employees, patients and visitors within the service unit. Direct, implement, and evaluate the service unit emergency response and security unit's fire and emergency response plan and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Conduct environmental monitoring to identify and report health and facility exposure issues, conducts loss control and risk analysis surveys in occupational health, safety, security, and fire areas. Conduct and oversee the evaluation of required emergency management exercises that are based upon the hospital's identified operational vulnerabilities and threats and involve the necessary facility staff as well as external agencies and organizations.
