The AI Consultant supports the delivery of artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technology services for CBIZ Technology clients. This role partners with clients and internal teams to identify business opportunities, assess AI readiness, develop practical AI solutions, and support implementation initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.

 

The AI Consultant serves as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle, helping clients understand the potential of AI technologies while ensuring solutions align with business objectives, governance requirements, operational realities, and organizational readiness. This role combines consulting, business analysis, technology enablement, and client-facing delivery responsibilities.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

Solution Innovation & Demo Development

• Design, build, and maintain a growing repertoire of practical, client-relevant AI demonstration solutions aligned with CBIZ Technology’s current sales offerings and consulting priorities.

• Develop fully functioning business applications and proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate how AI, advanced data analytics, intelligent automation, agentic development, and application development can work together to solve real business problems.

• Translate emerging technology concepts into tangible examples of “the possible” that can be shown to clients, prospects, internal leaders, and delivery teams.

• Prioritize solutions that are leading edge yet practical, reliable, scalable, and grounded in real client use cases rather than theoretical demonstrations.

• Ensure demonstration assets are polished, repeatable, well documented, and suitable for use in sales pursuits, workshops, executive briefings, and client education sessions.

AI Solution Architecture & Technical Execution

• Create AI-enabled solution prototypes, accelerators, and reusable components under the direction of the National Leader of Emerging Technology.

• Combine generative AI, agentic workflows, data pipelines, dashboards, robotic process automation, APIs, and custom applications into integrated business solutions.

• Evaluate, select, and apply appropriate tools and platforms, including Microsoft AI technologies, Azure services, Power Platform, automation platforms, and related development frameworks.

• Build solutions with practical attention to usability, data quality, security, reliability, maintainability, and measurable business value.

• Collaborate with advanced analytics, automation, development, cloud, security, and consulting resources to move concepts from idea to working demonstration.

Sales Enablement & Client-Facing Demonstrations

• Equip sales and consulting teams with compelling demonstration assets, talk tracks, solution overviews, technical explanations, and client-ready examples that support business development efforts.

• Partner with market-facing teams to align demo solutions with priority industries, common client pain points, and active sales opportunities.

• Support client meetings, workshops, and executive presentations by demonstrating working solutions and explaining their business relevance in practical terms.

• Prepare supporting materials such as process flows, solution diagrams, requirements summaries, implementation considerations, and value narratives.

• Continuously refine demonstrations based on client feedback, sales team input, market demand, and emerging technology capabilities.

Applied Research, Experimentation & Market Relevance

• Monitor emerging AI, automation, analytics, agentic, and application development trends and assess their relevance to CBIZ Technology’s client base.

• Conduct hands-on experimentation with new platforms, models, frameworks, and development approaches to determine practical business applicability.

• Identify gaps between market hype and functional business application, then develop examples that demonstrate credible, high-quality execution.

• Document lessons learned, technical patterns, limitations, implementation requirements, and recommended use cases for internal knowledge sharing.

• Help establish standards for demonstration quality, usability, governance, security, and repeatability across emerging technology assets.

Practice Development & Delivery Readiness

• Contribute to reusable methodologies, solution playbooks, demo libraries, accelerators, and internal enablement materials for the Emerging Technology practice.

• Create documentation that allows sales, consulting, and delivery teams to understand, position, configure, and extend demonstration solutions.

• Support proposal development, solution positioning, and pre-sales activities by providing credible technical input and practical examples.

• Assist in transitioning successful demonstration concepts into client delivery approaches, pilot programs, and scalable service offerings.

• Pursue ongoing professional development, certifications, and technical training in AI, automation, data analytics, agentic development, and modern application platforms.

• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting AI, automation, digital transformation, data analytics, or business process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft AI technologies, Microsoft Foundry, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Fabric, or related platforms.
• Experience with leading edge enterprise platforms and capabilities including Anthropic, OpenAI and Google Gemini.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, data management, or security concepts.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, or client-facing environments.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and change management principles.
• Relevant certifications such as: 

  • Microsoft AI Certifications

  • Microsoft Power Platform Certifications

  • Azure Certifications

  • PMP, CAPM, Agile, or Scrum Certifications

  • Change Management Certifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Achieve professional certifications relative to area of expertise, must have and preserve required licenses

• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
