Lead DevOps Engineer

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the DevOps team reporting to the Director of Pipeline and Platform Engineering, you will support projects at the forefront of hospitality technology progress. * Architect next‑generation cloud platforms and automation solutions. * Devise and evolve code‑driven automation strategies that ensure environment consistency across development, testing, and production. * Build long‑term automation solutions using scripting and programming (Groovy, Shell, Python, Terraform, or Java/JavaScript). * Provide technical leadership and implementation guidance for UI, APIs, and microservices. * Work with development teams to guide best practices, design patterns, and operational standards. * Understand new architectural concepts and recommend improvements from an infrastructure and security perspective. * Support reliability engineering efforts and participate in on‑call rotations for mission-critical & revenue‑impacting cloud services. Deliverables you'll take ownership of: * Design and implement enterprise DevOps architectures, reference patterns, and tooling strategies. * Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines across the organization (GitLab preferred). * Enable seamless, secure, and available software builds and deployments across Agile teams. * Configure, tune, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred). * Maintain containerized applications with Docker or similar technologies.   WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE THE STAY You have these minimum qualifications: * Five (5) years of experience in Technology or a related field. * Four (4) years with CI tools such as GitLab (preferred), or Bamboo. * Four (4) years architecting and developing automation to support Continuous Delivery. * Three (3) years administering Kubernetes. * Three (3) years on AWS cloud platforms * Proficiency in scripting/programming in Bash * Experience supporting reliability efforts, on‑call rotations. * Travel up to 10%. It would be useful if you have: * Bachelor's degree OR Associate's + 6 years tech experience OR HS/GED + 12 years tech experience. * Seven (7)+ years of technology experience. * Five (5) years of CI tool experience (GitLab or Bamboo), Cloud and Kubernetes platforms. * One (1) year of management experience * Scripting experience in Python or Terraform HOW WE'LL HELP YOU THRIVE At Hilton, the hospitality we're known for doesn't end with our guests.
