Position Purpose

The Nurse Manager provides leadership, direction, and accountability for the clinical, operational, financial, and human resource management. The Nurse Manager promotes a culture of excellence through evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, colleague engagement, and exceptional patient experience.

This leader partners with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and organizational leaders to advance Trinity Health's mission, values, and strategic priorities while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and operational effectiveness.

What You Will Do

Clinical Excellence & Quality Outcomes

  • Provide 24-hour accountability for patient care delivery and unit operations.

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care.

  • Monitor and improve key quality, patient experience, and regulatory metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and Trinity Health standards.

  • Lead evidence-based practice and performance improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing nursing team.

  • Create an environment that supports professional practice, shared decision-making, and colleague well-being.

  • Coach and mentor charge nurses and emerging leaders.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and address colleague development opportunities.

  • Promote recognition, accountability, and professional growth.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily unit operations to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and patient placement.

  • Support patient throughput and operational excellence initiatives.

Financial Stewardship

  • Manage departmental budget and financial performance.

  • Monitor labor and supply utilization while maintaining quality outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource management.

  • Support strategic initiatives and service line growth.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Build strong partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Facilitate effective communication across departments and leadership levels.

  • Address patient, family, and colleague concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Champion organizational priorities and change initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive acute care nursing experience required.

  • Prior leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or equivalent leadership role preferred.

  • Experience in surgical, medical-surgical, telemetry, or specialty inpatient nursing strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $52.00 - $76.30 per hour

Compensation is based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity considerations. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) are compensated within the salary range equivalent to the stated hourly rate.
