Job Summary:
Pairs is looking for an exceptional Director of Brand, Communications & Partnerships to lead the overall Brand function in Japan. This leader will define and execute the long-term Brand Strategy for Pairs while overseeing integrated Brand Marketing, Communications, Strategic Partnerships and Alliance Marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution, possesses a deep understanding of modern brand building, integrated marketing and social-first communications, and has a proven ability to build high-performing teams. This role partners closely with senior leaders across Eureka and Match Group to strengthen the Pairs brand while driving measurable business impact.

What You'll Do:
- Brand Strategy & Marketing
- Own the overall Brand Strategy for Pairs and translate business priorities into impactful brand initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of integrated 360° brand campaigns across TV, Digital, Social, PR, Events and Owned Media.
- Partner with Creative, Media, Product, Performance Marketing, Analytics and external agencies to deliver world-class brand experiences.
- Develop media strategies that maximize both brand impact and business performance.
- Establish measurement frameworks and continuously optimize campaign effectiveness using consumer insights, experimentation and data.
- Ensure every consumer touchpoint consistently reflects the Pairs brand positioning and strategy.
- Stay ahead of consumer, cultural and social trends to keep the Pairs brand relevant and differentiated.
- Strategic Communications
- Lead strategic communications initiatives that strengthen trust in the Pairs brand through earned media, executive communications and thought leadership.
- Partner with Corporate Communications on reputation management and crisis communications.
- Build strong relationships with media, agencies and key external stakeholders.
- Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and execute strategic partnership and alliance marketing initiatives that create value for users and drive business growth.
- Identify, negotiate and manage relationships with external partners to deliver innovative co-marketing opportunities.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships that enhance the Pairs brand and expand its reach.
- Business Operations
- Own annual planning, budget management and resource allocation across the organization.
- Monitor marketing investments, business KPIs and campaign performance to drive effective decision making.
- Ensure operational excellence while balancing speed, quality and execution.
- Global Collaboration
- Serve as the primary Brand leader for Match Group Global stakeholders.
- Partner closely with global cross-functional teams to share learnings, align priorities and drive regional and global success.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Brand Marketing, Consumer Marketing or Integrated Marketing.
- Proven experience developing Brand Strategy and leading integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of creative development, media planning, social marketing and marketing measurement.
- Experience leading strategic PR and corporate communications initiatives.
- Experience developing and executing partnership marketing or alliance programs.
- Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and marketing investments.
- Excellent project management and operational management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills with experience communicating with executive stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional and global teams.
- Experience working in a fast-growing technology or consumer internet company is preferred.
- Fluency in Japanese and English is required.
