Summary

The Senior Pharmacist applies advanced knowledge and experience within the pharmacy discipline while often functioning in ambiguous situations. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include prospective patient profile review, medication order verification, identification and resolution of medication-related problems, interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nursing, and other healthcare professionals, patient education, and clinical consultation across inpatient and ambulatory settings. Pharmacists support both clinical and operational pharmacy services, ensuring safe medication use, regulatory compliance, evidence-based practice, and continuity of care while adapting to the diverse needs of a rural healthcare environment.

 

As a critical access hospital, our pharmacists practice at the top of their license and play an integral role in shaping the future of pharmacy services. Team members are empowered to identify opportunities, develop innovative clinical and ambulatory care services, optimize medication inventory and operational workflows, and build meaningful partnerships across the organization. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Two years of experience preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations.

License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
