Accountabilities:
- Analyze and integrate well data, including open-hole logs, core measurements, pressure data, fluid properties, mudlogs, lithology information, and dynamic datasets to develop robust rock and fluid frameworks.
- Deliver integrated petrophysical interpretations that support well planning, reservoir characterization, resource progression, and low-carbon opportunities.
- Evaluate and communicate subsurface uncertainties, alternative scenarios, and associated risks at both well and reservoir scales.
- Provide recommendations on data acquisition strategies to optimize subsurface understanding and decision-making.
- Integrate petrophysical results with geological models and reservoir scenarios to support multidisciplinary workflows.
- Collaborate closely with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and other subsurface professionals across global teams.
- Contribute to technical innovation and continuous improvement by sharing best practices and supporting the development of new methodologies.
- Participate actively in technical communities and communities of practice to enhance knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Support the delivery of high-quality subsurface products that address complex business challenges and strategic objectives.
- Advanced degree (MSc, MA, or PhD) in Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, or another relevant scientific discipline.
- 5–12 years of professional experience as a petrophysicist within integrated oil and gas companies or related service organizations.
- Strong expertise in reservoir characterization and well log interpretation using open-hole logs, core data, pressure information, fluid analysis, and dynamic datasets.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets while applying pragmatic and analytical approaches to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with both modern wireline and logging-while-drilling (LWD) technologies as well as legacy logging tools.
- Proven experience integrating petrophysical interpretations with geological models and reservoir studies.
- High proficiency in petrophysical interpretation software, ideally Techlog.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical findings, uncertainties, and recommendations.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience working within exploration-focused and integrated subsurface teams.
- Knowledge of cased-hole log interpretation and integration methodologies.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Spotfire or Power BI.
- Experience using Petrel or similar subsurface modeling platforms.
- Programming skills, particularly in Python, including exposure to statistical analysis, machine learning, and data analytics techniques.
- Understanding of subsurface uncertainty management, reservoir geomechanics, and integrated well delivery processes.
