The opportunity:

In this role, you will primarily focus on the corporate and functional areas, leading financial planning, analysis, and controlling activities for Hitachi Energy’s Mexico operations. Reporting directly to the Function Controlling Lead Region LATAM, you will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial reporting and driving business performance.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead all financial controlling activities for the Mexico legal entity, ensuring compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal company policies.

  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Review and analyze financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and key financial metrics.

  • Collaborate closely with the Country Finance Manager (CFM) and senior leadership on key strategic financial initiatives.

  • Act as a finance business partner to functional leaders, supporting decision-making, budgeting, and financial planning processes.

  • Calculate and maintain Mexico CCC hub rates to for services provided to other countries, including annual rate-setting, ongoing monitoring, and periodic true-up adjustments, as required.

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and support internal and external audit activities.

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 2 finance professionals.

  • Support regional and global finance initiatives and special projects, as required.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Controlling, ideally within a multinational environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex financial, regulatory, and operational challenges with sound judgment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for decision-making at all organizational levels.

  • Strong expertise in IFRS and current regulatory requirements, including a solid understanding of differences between local statutory accounting and IFRS reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP and strong proficiency in MS Office tools, including Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.

  • Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and meeting demanding deadlines.

  • Fluent in English & Spanish.
