Accountabilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll activities accurately and efficiently, including calculations, adjustments, and payment processing.
- Manage off-cycle payments in accordance with internal policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Process employee leave information, including leave of absence tracking and related payroll impacts.
- Review payroll reports, audits, and exception reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate payroll-related questions, adjustments, and issues while collaborating with internal teams for resolution.
- Verify benefit elections, deductions, and payroll-related changes to ensure accurate employee records.
- Maintain knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, benefits regulations, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Process employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, terminations, and deductions within payroll systems.
- Support payroll system upgrades, testing activities, and process improvements.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries for financial reporting purposes.
- Maintain accurate payroll documentation, procedures, and compliance records.
- Serve as a liaison with third-party vendors to support payroll settlements, taxes, and benefits administration.
- Provide responsive customer service by addressing payroll questions from employees and leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of relevant payroll experience required.
- Experience supporting payroll preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll tax processes.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, benefits deductions, and leave administration.
- Experience with payroll systems; familiarity with UKG Ready is preferred.
- Non-profit organization experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including the ability to create and manage formulas.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, identify, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees, leaders, and external vendors.
- Competitive annual salary range of $62,000–$68,000, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
