Responsibilities
- The Exchange Coordinator assists the pharmacist with preparation of routine medications for distribution to facilities based on physician orders and prescriptions
- Fill cycle medication orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner
- Review pre-pack list and prepare 30/31 day cards with the appropriate drug
- Works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist assisting with dispensing medication according to the prescription
- Assist the inventory tech with restocking and cleaning shelves with medication and other items as needed
- May assist with regular inventory cycle
- Assist in shipping the medications according to the facility and work with the shipping clerk to ensure boxes are shipped in a timely manner
- Sort prescriptions according to facility and print packing slips for cycle exchange
- Communicate with nursing staff to obtain/provide key information
- Follow all applicable government regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician certification in the appropriate state
- Minimum one year of related experience in data entry
- Excellent data entry skills
- Attention to detail and be able to work under deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
