What we need
As the Senior Manager, Payroll and Expenses, you will oversee the company’s payroll, corporate credit card program, and cash operations functions. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all activity is accurately recorded in the financial statements and supervises accounting staff. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will serve as a key leader within the operational accounting team.

The Accounting team is part of the Finance organization, which is a critical financial business partner for the Company. Finance functions include General Accounting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Internal Audit, FP&A. Our Finance team is a trusted source of financial information and guidance for our internal customers, partners, customers, suppliers, regulators, and stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Lead and develop the payroll accounting team to ensure timely payroll processing, payroll accrual calculations, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and industry best practice
Serve as primary payroll accounting lead for new-country and regional expansions, partnering cross-functionally to establish compliant payroll processes, controls, and accounting practices in support of international growth initiatives.
Oversee the administration of the Corporate Travel & Expense (T&E) and Purchasing Card (P-Card) programs, including employee card issuance, account maintenance, policy enforcement, and vendor relationship management.
Develop, implement, and maintain corporate T&E policies, procedures, and internal controls; conduct periodic audits and monitoring activities to ensure policy compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Partner with Finance Systems, Treasury, and Information Technology teams to enhance, optimize, and maintain financial systems supporting payroll, cash management, travel and expense, and corporate card transactions.
Oversee the cash accountant to ensure accrual and payment of corporate card expenses, facilitate ad hoc payment requests, and provide house bank funding transactions through wire, check and ACH transactions.
Lead strategic Payroll and Corporate Expense initiatives, including system implementations, process automation projects, operational scalability efforts, and month-end close optimization initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare and review SOX control activities and documentation
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team by providing coaching, training, performance feedback, career development opportunities, and effective performance management; establish clear objectives and accountability measures to drive operational excellence and employee engagement.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant payroll and accounting experience.
Prior direct or functional management experience required.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
Effective leader with excellent oral and written communication
SAP experience preferred
High attention to detail required in managing analytical tasks.
Ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days per week in office) based in Wilmington, MA office.
Our Environment
Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $150,000.00 - $206,800.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
