The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Performs strategic operational and business leadership duties in support of multiple large-scale clinical divisions/departments, with emphasis on program growth, strategic planning, and cross-divisional coordination. Develops comprehensive business management practices, planning mechanisms, control systems, and organizational structures necessary for the strategic management of multiple extensive clinical departments with significant scope and complexity. Leads strategic initiatives to expand clinical services through regional expansion and multi-site management, enhance operational efficiency, and drive program growth across assigned divisions in alignment with Medical Center initiatives. Organizes and analyzes complex information necessary for strategic understanding of multi-divisional clinical operations spanning multiple geographic locations. Manages employees directly and through subordinate supervisors across multiple large clinical areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads strategic planning initiatives across multiple large clinical divisions to identify growth opportunities, service line expansions, regional expansion opportunities, and operational improvements in alignment with Medical Center strategic initiatives. Develops

    and implements comprehensive strategic plans for program development,

    service expansion, multi-site management, and market growth across region al

    locations. Collaborates with division chiefs and department leadership to

    establish strategic priorities and growth targets that support Medical Center-

    wide expansion goals. Analyzes market trends, competitive landscape, and

    patient demographics across multiple regions to inform strategic decision-

    making. Champions innovation initiatives and leads cross-divisional projects to

    enhance clinical service delivery and program effectiveness across multiple

    sites and geographic areas. Oversees strategic planning for regional network

    development and multi-site clinical operations management

  • Oversees operations across

    multiple large-scale clinical divisions with extensive scope to ensure efficient,

    effective, and coordinated service delivery across multiple sites and regions.

    Manages complex multi-site operations, including coordination between

    regional locations and satellite facilities. Ensures completion of various

    surveys, reports, and regulatory requirements across all assigned divisions and

    geographic locations. Leads quality assurance initiatives for clinical and

    hospital programs in conjunction with division chiefs and quality leaders across

    multiple sites. Maintains responsibility for purchases, approvals of major

    equipment, services, space and materials across multiple divisions and

    locations. Serves in a strategic facilitative role in the development phase of any

    new or revised activities, including regional expansion projects. Leads

    comprehensive evaluation of multi-divisional performance across all sites and

    implements improvement strategies for large-scale operations

  • Develops, monitors, and

    optimizes salary, operating, and capital budgets, typically totaling $20-75M,

    across multiple large clinical divisions with focus on strategic resource

    allocation, regional expansion investment, and multi-site growth initiatives.

    Leads financial planning for program expansions, new service line

    development, and regional network growth in alignment with Medical Center

    strategic priorities. Interacts with faculty regarding strategic utilization of grants,

    contracts, clinical and gift/endowment funds across multiple sites. Ensures fiscal control across all divisions and locations, utilizing policies and

    recommendations of University Audit. Supervises account and purchasing

    functions across multiple areas and sites, including reconciliation, problem

    resolution, and strategic analysis of revenue and expense trends. Evaluates

    and analyzes multi-divisional budget information for strategic opportunities,

    trends, and regional growth potential. Manages fiscal aspects of multiple large

    clinical practices across various locations, including strategic fee setting,

    comprehensive income and expense analysis, and implementation of faculty

    compensation plans. Promotes accurate billing across all divisions and sites

    and leads initiatives for revenue optimization and growth through regional

    expansion.

  • Works with division chiefs and other managers to identify, evaluate, and recruit all new staff across multiple large divisions and regional locations with focus on strategic workforce planning for multi-site operations. Responsible for strategic management of extensive multi-divisional staff, directly and indirectly, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and regional expansion goals. Establishes internal policies and procedures that support strategic operations across divisions and multiple sites. Leads strategic human resources initiatives, including succession planning, talent development, and organizational design for large-scale operations. Advises faculty and staff across multiple divisions and locations on all aspects of personnel administration. Prepares strategic salary recommendations and workforce planning analyses for multi-site operations.

    Monitors staff and faculty compensation levels across divisions and regions to ensure equity and competitiveness. Leads strategic employee engagement initiatives across all assigned large divisions and geographic locations.

  • Serves as strategic advisor on administrative and fiscal activities across multiple large divisions, with emphasis on strategic planning, program growth, regional expansion, and complex problem resolution for extensive clinical operations. Represents multiple divisions in strategic interactions within the department, Strong

    Memorial Hospital, the Medical Center, and the community, including regional stakeholders and multi-site partnerships. Leads strategic initiatives with external organizations involved in research, education, and patient care across multiple geographic areas. Serves as strategic resource in working with other departments of the University and Medical Center on cross-divisional and regional initiatives. Chairs strategic committees and leads multi-divisional task forces focused on regional expansion and multi-site management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as but not limited to business or health administration required.

  • Master’s degree, equivalent course work or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable.

  • 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 at a managerial level, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
