Finance Controller

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and organized Finance Controller to support our Barcelona office with day-to-day financial administration and coordination.

This role will work closely with the Finance team in Copenhagen and provide on-the-ground support to the Managing Director in Barcelona, ensuring all local finance requirements are met accurately and on time. You will handle bookkeeping tasks, support month-end processes, and assist with various finance operations to keep the office running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and record daily financial transactions in line with company procedures.
  • Assist with month-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations, and follow-ups with management.
  • Coordinate and manage the monthly payroll process in collaboration with our external payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Liaise with external accountants as directed by the Finance manager and CFO.
  • Support VAT and tax submissions, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist with budget preparation and provide supporting data for financial reporting.
  • Prepare and update financial reports, statistics, and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team in Copenhagen to ensure alignment on processes and standards.
  • Support the implementation of new finance processes or systems.

What we’re looking for:
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounts role.
  • Strong bookkeeping skills and familiarity with accounting principles.
  • Experience working with international teams or in a multi-entity organization is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.

This is a full-time position based out of BIG’s Barcelona office. Working together and collaborating in the same space is integral to our culture, so all our staff are expected to work from the office every day. Salary will be subject to experience and qualifications. Relevant applicants will be interviewed on an on-going basis, as we are seeking to fill this vacancy in September 2026.
