You Are:
You are a child welfare trailblazer — a seasoned leader who has spent your career championing the safety, permanency, and well-being of vulnerable children and families. You bring more than a decade of hard-won expertise navigating the complexity of child welfare systems, and you are ready to take that knowledge national. You understand that real transformation in child welfare requires more than good intentions — it demands deep regulatory fluency, systems thinking, and the ability to mobilize diverse stakeholders around a shared vision. At Accenture, you will amplify your impact, partnering with states and agencies across the country to drive meaningful, lasting change for the children and families who need it most.
The Work:
As a Senior Manager in Accenture’s national Child Welfare practice, you will lead high-impact engagements that span child welfare system modernization, CCWIS compliance and implementation, program transformation, and stakeholder alignment — working with state agencies and their partners to reimagine how child welfare services are delivered. You will serve as a trusted advisor to state child welfare directors, program administrators, and agency leadership, helping them navigate federal mandates while designing people-centered, technology-enabled solutions that improve outcomes for children and families. From coast to coast, your fingerprints will be on some of the most consequential child welfare transformation efforts in the country.
Our Child Welfare practice is at the forefront of a national movement to modernize and transform how states care for their most vulnerable citizens. You will help grow and shape this practice, bringing your subject matter expertise to bear on business development, solution design, and delivery excellence across a dynamic national portfolio of engagements.
In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver child welfare transformation solutions that integrate policy expertise, operational know-how, and emerging technology. You will work hand-in-hand with child welfare agencies navigating complex federal requirements — including CCWIS regulations and associated ACF policy bulletins — while driving forward-thinking program redesign that puts child safety and family stability at the center.
As a subject matter expert and practice leader, you will: guide CCWIS planning, procurement, and implementation strategies for state child welfare agencies; lead child welfare system modernization initiatives from assessment through deployment; design and facilitate stakeholder engagement strategies that build consensus across agency leadership, advocacy groups, tribal partners, and community organizations; develop and present compelling points of view on child welfare policy, technology, and operational transformation; contribute to Accenture’s national child welfare thought leadership, proposal development, and practice growth; and mentor and develop a team of passionate consultants who share your commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the country to support client engagements (up to 50-75%)
Here’s What You Need:
Minimum of 8 years of child welfare leadership experience, whether in a state agency, consultancy, advocacy organization, or technology partner context including experience with the following:
Knowledge of CCWIS regulations, ACF policy bulletins, and proven implementation strategies
Expertise in child welfare transformation and modernization, including program development, operations improvement, and digital solution enablement
Bonus Points If:
You hold an advanced degree in social work, public administration, public policy, or a related field
You have direct state child welfare agency leadership experience (e.g., Deputy Director, Program Manager, CCWIS Project Director)
You have experience leading large-scale CCWIS procurements or implementations
Proven ability to engage and align complex stakeholder landscapes — from frontline caseworkers to state agency directors to federal partners
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex policy and technical concepts for diverse audiences
You have existing relationships with state child welfare agency leaders across the country
You have contributed to child welfare policy at the federal or national advocacy level
You bring a passion for human-centered design and an ability to translate policy intent into operational reality
You have a deep alignment with Accenture’s vision for a fully integrated Child Welfare ecosystem that connects children, families, caseworkers, and communities
You have a track record of building and scaling high-performing, mission-driven consulting teams
You are a published author, speaker, or recognized voice in the child welfare field
