NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

Are you an adventurous engineer with a passion for modern technology? NVIDIA is seeking an outstanding Optical System Engineer to join our Validation and Qualification group in Denmark. This is a groundbreaking opportunity to work on our pioneering LinkX interconnect portfolio, including passive and active copper cables, optical transceivers, and emerging silicon photonics technologies. If you are driven by excellence and ready to collaborate with world-class talent, we encourage you to apply!

What you'll be doing:

  • Defining qualification plans and test scopes for Engineering Change Requests (ECR), new product introductions, and build changes by integrating inputs from the chip industry, electronics, optics, mechanical, and process fields into a cohesive qualification strategy.

  • Leading qualification kick-offs and effectively communicating qualification objectives, scope, risk, and status to engineering staff, program management, and collaborators across the organization.

  • Collaborating closely with all hardware development groups, including HW, ASIC, package, mechanical, process, reliability, product engineering, and CM partners, to align technical requirements and drive qualification execution.

  • Reviewing test data and qualification reports for ongoing programs, analyzing optical parameters (RX/TX power, OMA, ER, eye diagrams, BER, OSNR, wavelength, insertion loss, return loss) to qualify products and flag risks early.

  • Managing the build and expansion of optical lab stations by defining station framework, picking equipment (such as VOA, OSA, optical power meters, fibers, cleaning tools, and chillers), and setting up new stations for production readiness.

  • Acting as the Optics Point-of-Contact (POC) for the Validation and Qualification group, focusing on optics issues, leading root-cause investigations, and managing communication among R&D, product engineering, CM partners, and reliability engineers.

  • Operating effectively in a high-intensity environment, balancing multiple parallel qualifications, tight schedules, and shifting priorities without compromising technical difficulty.

What we need to see:

  • M.Sc. in Electro-Optics, Physics, or B.Sc. or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Electro-Optics modules validation, optical system Engineering and optical parameters analyzing.

  • Strong working knowledge of high-speed optical transceivers, silicon photonics, and optical link performance (modulation formats, link budget, BER/eye analysis).

  • Multidisciplinary technical foundation with the ability to think across chip industry (ASIC/package), electronics, mechanical, process, and optics domains to develop a comprehensive qualification plan.

  • Proven experience in defining qualification or test plans for product changes (ECR, NPI, second source, build change) and reviewing the resulting data and reports.

  • Hands-on experience with optical lab instruments and the ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and validate lab setups, including VOA, Spectrum Analyzer, VNA, and optical power meters.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to guide data-driven decisions and present clear technical conclusions.

  • Data analysis and scripting skills (Python, JMP, or similar) for large-scale optical parametric data review.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Hands-on experience with silicon photonics-based transceivers or co-packaged optics (CPO).

  • Familiarity with industry specifications (OSFP MSA, GR-468, GR-326, GR-1435).

  • Background in qualification, reliability, or system validation of optical or interconnect products at a network equipment or optical transceiver's company.
