Overview

Kimley-Horn's Franklin, Tennessee (TN) office is seeking Landscape Architecture Designers with 6+ years of experience to join their team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare site plans, landscape plans, planting plans, hardscape plans, grading exhibits, renderings, and construction documents.
  • Develop conceptual site designs and graphics for client presentations and public meetings.
  • Produce detailed CAD and design documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software.
  • Coordinate with project managers, Landscape Architects, planners, engineers, surveyors, and other disciplines.
  • Assist with project permitting and municipal submittal packages.
  • Perform site inventory, analysis, and field verification activities.
  • Research zoning requirements, landscape ordinances, and development standards.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and technical reports as needed.
  • Support construction administration activities including shop drawing reviews and site observations.
  • Maintain project schedules and deliver high-quality work products that meet client expectations.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in landscape architecture, land development, or related design field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong graphic, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred

  • Experience with LandFX, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, ArcGIS, or similar design software.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and municipal permit submittals.
  • Progress toward professional Landscape Architecture licensure.
  • Experience working on commercial, mixed-use, residential, transportation, or public-sector projects.
