As a Food Safet Supervisor, you’re not just ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
Lead, develop, and manage the organization-wide food safety programme, including policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Food Safety Analysts and food safety team members, ensuring professional development and performance standards
Develop and implement strategic food safety plans aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Oversee HACCP plan development, validation, and verification across all production and service operations
Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and lead responses to inspections, audits, and enforcement actions
Direct food safety training programmes for all levels of team members, from frontline workers to senior management
Lead investigations of food safety incidents, product recalls, and guest complaints and ensure thorough root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
Manage food safety certification programmes and ensure successful audit outcomes
Analyse food safety data and trends to identify risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee supplier approval programmes and vendor food safety audits to ensure supply chain integrity
Manage the food safety budget, including equipment, training, and laboratory testing resources
Ensure crisis preparedness and lead emergency response protocols for food safety incidents
Promote and sustain a strong food safety culture throughout the hotel
What It Takes to Make the Stay

Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Public Health, or related field
Advanced food safety certification (e.g., ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 Lead/Internal Auditor’s certification, HACCP certification or equivalent)
5-8 years of progressive experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance with minimum of 3 years as a food safety professional in hospitality industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of local and international food safety standards
Strong leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting and presentation abilities
Experience with food safety data management systems and statistical process control
Ability to influence organizational culture and drive change at all levels of the organization
Work environment includes office settings, food production facilities, warehouses, and meeting rooms
Exposure to various food processing environments including cold storage, hot kitchens, and industrial equipment
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in food handling and production areas
