Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Escorting of vendors and customers
  • Interface with requestors via phone call, instant messaging, email, and other DXC interface tools.
  • Review data center access requests to ensure compliance to DXC Technology processes
  • Create and maintain documentation related to site specific activities performed including processes and procedures.
  • Support DXC Technology Data Center IT equipment installation and removal planning activities.
  • Participate in planning of data center space and layout for new device installations, removals, and cabling infrastructure builds
  • Support DXC Technology’s Service Management process and procedures including performing activities in the designated DXC Technology tools and ticketing systems.
  • Perform physical inspection and collection of information related to IT equipment within the data center white spaces, storage rooms, loading docks, and other locations onsite in the facilities as documented.
  • Perform shipping/receiving functions including but not limited to receipt and shipping at facility loading dock or other facility entrance, packing/unpacking of materials, movement of materials and equipment to/from data floor or storage location.
  • Mount/dismount of media, recording of all media movements, shipping activities, destructions, and offsite vaulting activities within DXC provided tools.
  • Installation and Removal of IT equipment
  • Basic device configuration and OS Loads
  • Basic troubleshooting and repair of IT equipment failures
  • Physical installation and removal of patch cabling, and cabling components, and related material
  • Test all cable pathways end to end before completion of change or incident records in accordance with DXC Technology standards
  • Physical removal of patch cabling, cabling components, cable infrastructure and related material.
  • Perform visual inspection of equipment as requested to provide DXC Technology with information regarding cabling, port availability, and network connections
  • Cable troubleshooting and repair

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically, 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis
  • Proficiencies in data analysis and problem-solving
  • A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology

  • Good interpersonal skills to work with customers and other unit personnel
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to resolve hardware and equipment problems

Requirements:

  • Able to work holidays as required
  • Able to work night shift position working 12-hour shifts, 6 PM - 6 AM Thu - Sat nights and a 6-hour shift on Wed night.
  • Ability to be on call after hours
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and to obtain the required security clearance
