SOFTWARE ENGINEER PRINCIPAL

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
The Software Engineer shall be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting GHOSTGEM's software suite of applications and possibly future capabilities as mission needs arise.  Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS and FOSS products, packages, and libraries. The Software Engineer must have a demonstrated understanding of the software development life cycle.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer Principal must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 8+ years of related experience

● Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Position Required Skills

    Experience using the Linux CLI
    Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
    Recent software development experience using Java 
    Experience developing with the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Integration 
    Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB  
    Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
    Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes
    Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
    Familiar with Messaging Frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
    Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as Bamboo and GitLab CI 
    Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools including Ansible
    Experience using Git Source Control System
 

Position Desired Skills

    Familiar with Log Aggregation and Management systems such as Loki
    Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence

The likely salary range for this position is $175,950 - $238,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
