Management and Program Analyst

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of International Affairs, Passport and Visa Branch, located in Washington DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. This position manages and supports CBP's official and diplomatic passport and visa program for CBP personnel. The unit ensures that all passport and visa actions are processed accurately and timely, in compliance with Department of State and CBP requirements. This position starts at a salary of $70,623.00 (GS-9, Step 1) to $111,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $133,142 (GS-12 Step 10). Typical duties include: Providing policy-based guidance and customer support to CBP offices and employees, related to passport and visa applications. Coordinating with U.S. and foreign consular officials to facilitate the issuance of diplomatic and official visas needed for CBP missions abroad. Corresponding and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to respond to inquiries and provide policy and procedural guidance. Assessing the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of CBP's passport and visa application program; evaluating the impact of current procedures on timeliness, accuracy, and resource utilization and making recommendations to improve workflows, strengthen internal controls, and reduce processing errors.
