Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer - Mobile (Multiple openings) in Cupertino, CA.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop next generation of software through hands-on coding, and re-imagining and fleshing out mobile experiences across various mobile devices. Specific duties include:
- Design and develop point of sale (POS) applications and other mobile applications across all mobile devices;
- Collaborate closely with our product, design, and server engineers;
- Utilize experience and judgement to make the system scalable and performance;
- Define and document designs for applications, including core product features and enhancements;
- Create, review, and coordinate execution of unit test plans for multiple projects, and identify opportunities to improve testing process;
- Assist with design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solution with a focus on clean and maintainable code;
- Develop reusable solutions across multiple applications for enhanced efficiency;
- Engineer reusable components for Core SDK using for seamless integration in various applications;
- Develop high level program specifications;
- Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved;
- Ensure the applications’ inclusivity for all users, meet compliance goals and requirements, and address UI accessibility issues;
- Assist technical staff and clients to investigate, analyze, and resolve highly complex technical problems;
- Identify and manage interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations;
- Architect solutions to improve maintainability and scalability of the applications;
- Analyze, define, and document design for data, workflow, logical processes, and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external;
- Supervise monitoring of existing application systems operating efficiency;
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommends technical solutions;
- Implement knowledge of cutting-edge Mobile technologies; and
- Design and implement multi-module architecture to support scalable development and independent sdk development.
Uses the following tools and technologies: Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, Jetpack compose, Gradle, APIs, Database/SQL, MVVM architecture, LiveData, Room DB, and Coroutines.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience in a software development occupation.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Designing, coding, testing, and implementing mobile application solutions. 2) Using mobile development tools and technologies, including Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, Coroutines, MVVM architecture, Jetpack Compose, and Gradle. 3) Creating, reviewing, and coordinating execution of unit test plans and identifying opportunities to improve testing process. 4) Using the following: APIs, Database/SQL, LiveData, Room DB, and CI/CD. 5) Architecting and managing multi module architecture for Android to support features for multiple apps. 6) Building UI that can be scaled for various screen sizes and devices and working with UI/UX design principles for Android.
