Let's Talk about the Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) projects, acting as the vital link between our UK-based technical teams and the international project teams and customers who bring these projects to life.

You will take ownership of project delivery, engineering solutions, and customer satisfaction, working across manufacturing, engineering, and central technology teams to keep large-scale HVDC projects on track. You'll bring clarity to complex challenges, build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, and use your judgment and experience to keep projects moving forward, on time and on budget.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Leading as the senior interface between our product engineering, central technology, and project execution teams to drive the right solutions for large HVDC projects
  • Collaborating closely with our UK manufacturing teams to align equipment delivery with project schedules
  • Identifying risks early and driving timely escalation and mitigation to protect project timelines and costs
  • Applying your in-depth technical knowledge to make sound judgment calls on complex operational, engineering, and manufacturing challenges
  • Supporting customer negotiations and building trusted relationships that strengthen long-term partnerships
  • Spotting new opportunities alongside your functional partners to develop innovative solutions for customers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Role Requirements

  • Some travel to project sites and manufacturing locations may be required
  • Occasional flexibility around working hours may be needed to support key project milestones

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skills for Success

You should be a confident, technically-minded project leader who thrives on solving complex problems and building strong relationships across teams and cultures. You'll bring:

  • Substantial experience managing or supporting delivery of HVDC (or similar high-voltage/power) projects, ideally having been part of a project team through a full delivery cycle
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally including valve technology, and the ability to spot and address risks before they become issues
  • The ability to work confidently with matrix teams, influencing without direct authority to keep projects on track
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage credibly with customers, engineers, and senior stakeholders alike
  • A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving, backed by sound technical judgment
  • Established project management skills and the ability to plan, document, and drive programs to successful completion

A formal education and university degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a related subject is nice to have, but we're most interested in your practical experience and what you've achieved.
