Product Engineer – MultiplierOS Pod

Working Pattern: Full time

Location: Ideally based in San Francisco, Singapore or Southeast Asia, with flexibility for the right candidate.

You'll work across Europe, UK, and Asia time zones to collaborate with our firms and internal teams. This is a global role requiring coverage of Europe, UK, and Israel time zones, with regular overlap into Asia or US working hours to enable cross-regional collaboration.

About the Company

Multiplier Holdings is a VC-backed startup that acquires and scales high-impact professional services firms through AI and automation. Multiplier operates in high-stakes verticals like tax and corporate accounting, where complex workflows, regulatory requirements, and talent shortages create significant opportunities for automation.

Unlike traditional software vendors, Multiplier integrates technology and service delivery under one roof. We build in-house AI and workflow components that can be configured to fit the needs of each acquired firm, increasing efficiency and productivity while improving the experience for both clients and staff. Why this Role Exists

MultiplierOS owns the operating system for the financial and organizational data that runs Multiplier: pricing and quoting, invoicing, payments, ledger, financial reporting, transfer pricing, portfolio company views, company directory, team directory, service directory, and the workflows that connect them.

This is where portfolio-company operations and HoldCo visibility meet. Portfolio companies need tools that make recurring finance, people, and back-office work faster and more reliable. HoldCo leaders need trusted visibility into financial and operational performance across the portfolio so they can make better decisions without chasing spreadsheets or relying on manual processes.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve these systems.

You will work closely with the Pod Lead, Product Experience, Finance, Operations, and portfolio-company stakeholders to design software that replaces spreadsheets, manual workflows, disconnected systems, and repetitive operational processes.

This is not a ticket-taking role. You will be expected to understand complex domains, shape technical solutions, and drive the delivery of critical systems that sit directly in the path of revenue, billing, reporting, staffing, and operational decision-making.

Many of the systems we build handle financial and operational data that businesses rely on every day. Correctness, reliability, and maintainability matter just as much as shipping velocity.

The Pod Lead owns roadmap, prioritization, customer outcomes, and team direction. Your role is to partner closely with them to translate business needs into software, drive execution, and help ensure the systems we build are scalable, reliable, and useful.

What You'll Drive

Product Development and Delivery

  • Design and build the systems that power pricing, quoting, invoicing, payments, reporting, organizational data, and operational workflows across a growing portfolio of companies.

  • Lead the delivery of complex, business-critical initiatives from problem definition and solution design through production rollout and iteration.

  • Translate ambiguous business and operational requirements into scalable software systems.

  • Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, flexibility, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

  • Drive projects independently while maintaining strong alignment with pod priorities and customer needs.

  • Take ownership of outcomes, not just implementation.

Systems Design and Engineering

  • Design and evolve domain models that represent financial, organizational, and operational data across the Multiplier ecosystem.

  • Build integrations with accounting systems, payment platforms, internal tools, and portfolio-company software.

  • Create reliable workflows that move data and work across systems while maintaining correctness, traceability, and auditability.

  • Improve system observability, performance, and operational reliability.

  • Design systems that support both portfolio-company flexibility and long-term platform consistency.

  • Contribute to the technical foundations required for reporting, automation, and future AI-enabled workflows.

  • Design for long-term maintainability without over-engineering early solutions.

Customer and Workflow Understanding

  • Develop a deep understanding of how financial, operational, and service-delivery workflows function across portfolio companies.

  • Work directly with operators, finance leaders, and internal stakeholders to understand process constraints, workflow bottlenecks, and system limitations.

  • Partner with the Pod Lead and Product Experience team to shape solutions that solve real operational problems.

  • Identify recurring workflow patterns that should become reusable product capabilities.

  • Stay close enough to users and workflows to ensure systems reflect operational reality rather than theoretical process design.

Engineering Excellence

  • Write maintainable, well-tested, production-quality code.

  • Lead technical design for complex projects and contribute to architectural decisions across the pod.

  • Raise the quality of systems through strong engineering judgment, thoughtful design, and operational excellence.

  • Identify and address technical debt where it meaningfully improves reliability, delivery velocity, or developer productivity.

  • Improve observability, debugging, and operational tooling to make systems easier to operate and maintain.

  • Help establish pragmatic engineering practices that support both speed and quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Experience, Infrastructure, Finance, Operations, and other product pods.

  • Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Help drive clarity when ownership, requirements, or priorities are ambiguous.

  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, customer focus, pragmatism, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.

  • Proven track record delivering complex products or business-critical systems in high-growth environments.

  • Strong software engineer with experience designing systems, building integrations, modeling complex domains, and operating production software at scale.

  • Comfortable operating across the full lifecycle of a project, from understanding customer problems through implementation and iteration.

  • Strong systems thinker who can reason about domain modeling, data consistency, integrations, workflow orchestration, and business tradeoffs.

  • Experience building systems that integrate with external platforms, APIs, financial systems, or operational software.

  • Experience in workflow-heavy domains such as fintech, accounting, payments, ERP, payroll, HRIS, professional services, marketplaces, or operations software is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with financial systems, reporting systems, billing, payments, accounting workflows, or operational tooling is a significant plus.

  • Comfortable debugging and improving systems in production and making pragmatic decisions under real-world constraints.

  • Product-minded and curious about the business problems behind technical work.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments where requirements are incomplete and priorities evolve quickly.

  • Strong communicator who can work effectively with operators, executives, engineers, and product stakeholders.

  • Pragmatic about AI and automation and able to identify where technology can create meaningful operational leverage.

  • High standards for reliability, correctness, and engineering quality in systems that support business-critical operations.

What This Role Is Not

  • A ticket implementation role. We expect engineers to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and help shape solutions.

  • A feature factory role. Engineers are expected to understand the business context behind their work and think in terms of systems and outcomes.

  • A pure infrastructure role. The primary focus is solving customer and operational problems through software.

  • A pure reporting or BI role. Reporting is important, but the scope also includes workflow automation, financial systems, directories, integrations, and operational tooling.

  • An engineering management role. This role focuses on technical execution, ownership, and impact rather than people management.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to join early in the growth journey of a company building a differentiated operator model at the intersection of services and AI.

  • High-ownership engineering role with direct impact across both HoldCo and portfolio companies.

  • Opportunity to shape core systems and workflows that sit at the center of Multiplier's operating model.

  • Competitive salary plus performance-based bonus and/or equity.

  • Unlimited paid leave, to rest and recharge as necessary.

  • Remote or flexible hybrid work arrangement depending on location.

  • Comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage.

Why Join Us

You will help build the operating system that powers how Multiplier runs across portfolio companies.

The systems you build will directly impact pricing, invoicing, payments, reporting, staffing, operational leverage, and strategic decision-making across the business. The work is early enough that you will shape foundational systems and product direction, while close enough to customers that you can see the immediate impact of what you build.

MultiplierOS is not a traditional CRUD application. We are building systems that connect financial workflows, operational processes, organizational data, reporting, and automation across multiple businesses. The challenge is designing software that is flexible enough to support different operating models while remaining simple, reliable, and maintainable.

If you enjoy solving complex operational problems, working directly with customers, and building systems that matter, we'd love to talk.
