The ADI Power uModule Team is seeking an experienced Applications Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for customer success, product execution, and business growth for industry-leading power module products. This role is ideal for a technical leader with strong power electronics expertise, proven people leadership, and the ability to align customer needs, product strategy, and engineering execution across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of applications engineers supporting power uModule products, including hiring, coaching, performance management, technical mentoring, and career development.
Set team priorities and resource plans to support new product development, customer engagements, technical escalations, evaluation platforms, and business-critical programs.
Drive application engineering strategy for power module solutions, ensuring strong execution across product definition, validation, documentation, customer support, and commercialization.
Partner with product line management, design engineering, product engineering, marketing, sales, FAEs, and key customers to identify market needs and translate them into product and application requirements.
Guide new product investigations, specification definition, evaluation planning, and release readiness for advanced power module products and system-level solutions.
Support strategic customer engagements and visits across industrial, datacenter, aerospace, and other high-growth applications.
Lead resolution of complex technical issues, including power attach, converter performance, and failure analysis support.
Drive development of technical collateral including reference designs, design tools, application notes, training materials, customer presentations, conference papers, and tradeshow demonstrations.
Analyze market trends, competitive technologies, and customer architecture shifts to influence roadmap priorities and expand ADI’s uModule business opportunity.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, customer focus, and innovation within the applications engineering organization.
Minimum Qualifications
MSEE in power electronics or related engineering discipline; PhD preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience in power electronics, power management, applications engineering, product engineering, or related technical leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience leading, managing, or mentoring technical teams, with a track record of developing engineering talent and driving execution through others in the manager role.
Deep hands-on expertise in designing, building, testing, and optimizing switching-mode power supplies, especially DC-DC converters.
Strong understanding of analog circuits, power converter topologies, control loop design, compensation, static and dynamic performance optimization, EMI, thermal design, and system-level power architecture.
Proven experience supporting key customers throughout the product lifecycle, from early architecture discussions and evaluation through qualification, production release, and sustaining support.
Experience with design, simulation, and analysis tools.
Excellent communication, technical writing, executive presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading cross-functional programs involving product definition, new product development, customer adoption, and revenue growth.
Strong knowledge of power module technologies, multiphase buck converters, high-current POL solutions, 48 V or higher-voltage architectures, isolated power, low-noise or low-EMI design, and high-power-density systems.
Direct experience with schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, bench validation, failure analysis, and customer board-level troubleshooting.
Familiarity with analog IC design, advanced packaging, magnetics, thermal modeling, parasitic extraction, and reliability considerations for power module products.
Experience with digital power interfaces and communication protocols such as I2C and PMBus.
Recognized technical leadership through patents, publications, conference presentations, industry participation, or significant customer and product impact.

Shift Type: 1st Shift/DaysThe expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $185,955 to $269,273.
Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
