POSITION SUMMARY
- Accountable for developing, directing, and assisting the company management with implementing Environmental and Safety programs that: Raise associates’ awareness of risks and risk control strategies; Reduce, eliminate, and protect associates from hazards in the workplace that may result in occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses; Verify the company operations work comply with safety laws, regulations, EHS policies and procedures. This individual would be responsible for implementation of Vertiv global standard as well as regulatory compliance across China.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement environmental programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and in support of company environmental guidelines including but not limited to air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection and disposal, wastewater and storm water management.
- Identify safety, health and environmental hazards inherent in our operations and establish guidelines and assist company management with implementing procedures to protect associates and the environment from those hazards.
- Investigate and establish standards for personal protective equipment.
- Develops accident prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies.
- Investigate all accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage the occupational injury process and coordinate all return-to-work activities.
- Manage and coordinate safety activities to ensure implementation of best practice safety activities.
- Develop, track, analyze, and communicate safety statistics and environmental reporting and statistics, including but not limited to hazardous waste generator status, air emissions, hazardous chemical usage and reporting requirements, etc.
- Submit all required safety and environmental reports on time and accurately as required by laws and regulations.
- Coordinate involvement with regulatory inspections and audits.
- Supervise employees involved in environmental and safety activities, including assigning and reviewing work and evaluating performance.
- Oversee office functions.
- Train staff and contractors on policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Responsible for emergency management, including optimizing emergency procedures, emergency goods preparation, managing emergency response.
- Other special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or above in safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field
- More than 8 years of experience in EHS.
- experienced in EHS management, preferably in Electronics manufacturing and services, Heavy Engineering, Construction, Consumer Products or other progressive industries.
- Experience including program development and implementation.
- Thorough knowledge of China EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
- Emphasis on electrical safety, ARC Flash, Lockout, Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, construction safety. etc.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage, and empower teams to achieve EHS goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Understanding of effective Lean and operating system implementation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Safety engineer certificate (needed)
- Level 1 fire engineer certificate (optional)
TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED
- 10-20% (Mainly Domestic)
