Accountabilities:

    The Product Owner will lead product development activities for archive management solutions by understanding user needs, prioritizing improvements, and supporting successful delivery. Key responsibilities include:

    • Owning and prioritizing the development backlog while aligning product activities with strategic objectives.
    • Acting as the subject matter expert for the archives product and representing user needs throughout the Agile development process.
    • Collaborating with developers and product teams to define requirements, clarify priorities, and support feature delivery.
    • Engaging with archivists, records managers, and end users to understand workflows, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Translating user feedback and business requirements into clear product specifications and actionable development tasks.
    • Conducting product demonstrations and walkthroughs for internal and external audiences.
    • Supporting the creation of consistent, intuitive, and user-focused product experiences.
    • Staying informed on archival standards, industry practices, and digital preservation requirements to guide product decisions.
    • Collaborating with Customer Success, Sales, and Support teams to gather insights and identify product enhancement opportunities.
    • Supporting continuous improvement by analyzing user needs, market trends, and product performance.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a structured, analytical, and collaborative product professional with the ability to connect technical teams with user communities. Required qualifications and skills include:

      • Post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant field such as Library Science, Information Science, History, Archival Studies, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
      • 3-5 years of experience working in a technical environment, product ownership role, or with archives and records management systems.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and organization.
      • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Experience managing product backlogs and prioritizing development tasks using product management or project management tools.
      • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving remote environment.
      • Strong interpersonal skills with experience collaborating across multiple teams and subject areas.
      • Genuine interest in archives, records management, digital preservation, cultural heritage, or willingness to learn these domains.
      • Experience with tools such as Jira and/or Aha!, product management certifications, or familiarity with archival and metadata standards is considered an asset.
