Position Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for transforming complex business data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the Credit Union. This role partners with business leaders to develop enterprise reporting solutions, identify trends and opportunities, and deliver data-driven recommendations that improve operational performance, enhance the member experience, and support organizational growth.

The ideal candidate is an experienced analytics professional with advanced expertise in SQL, Tableau, and business intelligence reporting, along with a strong understanding of financial services operations. This individual will lead analytical initiatives, develop executive-level reporting, ensure data integrity, and communicate actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Tableau dashboards, executive scorecards, and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, and other database objects to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Analyze large volumes of financial, operational, lending, and member data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and actionable business insights.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions.
  • Validate data accuracy, perform root cause analysis, and ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of reporting solutions.
  • Develop forecasting models, trend analyses, and statistical analyses to support strategic planning and business initiatives.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations through professional visualizations and executive-level presentations that facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support enterprise data governance initiatives by promoting best practices related to data quality, reporting standards, and documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for business intelligence and reporting, providing guidance and mentoring to junior analysts as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Advanced experience developing complex SQL solutions, including query optimization, stored procedures, complex joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing Tableau dashboards utilizing Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server or Cloud, Tableau Prep, calculated fields, Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, and dashboard performance optimization.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, operational reporting, and enterprise business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience within a Credit Union, banking, financial services, mortgage, or lending environment strongly preferred.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in:

  • Advanced SQL development and relational database concepts
  • Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud, and Tableau Prep
  • Business intelligence reporting and dashboard development
  • Executive KPI reporting and performance measurement
  • Forecasting, predictive analytics, and trend analysis
  • Data visualization and executive presentation techniques
  • Python or R programming experience is desirable

Working knowledge of:

  • Descriptive and Inferential Statistics
  • Regression Analysis
  • Correlation Analysis
  • Hypothesis Testing

Compensation and Job Title is commensurate with experience and may fall under the following pay ranges:

Data Analyst II- $89,000 to $120,000
