Accountabilities

    • Identify recurring friction points across software development lifecycle processes, code-generation workflows, and engineering practices, building a data-driven view of opportunities for improvement.
    • Evaluate different solution approaches, including building, buying, or adapting emerging technologies such as AI-powered and agentic development tools.
    • Design, prototype, and validate technical solutions that improve key engineering productivity metrics and deliver sustainable impact.
    • Review architectures and technical approaches directly to assess whether proposed solutions are scalable, effective, and durable.
    • Build and manage a high-performing engineering team or operate as a hands-on working manager focused on maximizing technical impact.
    • Partner with engineering teams to move validated solutions from prototypes into broader internal adoption.
    • Collaborate with product teams to assess opportunities for transforming successful internal solutions into customer-facing products.
    • Document successful approaches, lessons learned, and reusable practices to ensure knowledge is shared across teams.
    • Track and communicate impact through measurable productivity improvements, adoption metrics, and clear analysis of successful and unsuccessful initiatives.
    • Requirements

      • Strong experience identifying and delivering technical solutions that improve developer productivity, continuous integration and delivery processes, platform efficiency, or engineering workflows.
      • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, define strategic priorities, and create a roadmap without relying on an existing backlog.
      • Experience managing engineers, leading small teams, or operating successfully as a hands-on engineering manager.
      • Strong technical depth with the ability to evaluate, prototype, and validate solutions directly.
      • Product-oriented mindset with the ability to determine whether internal engineering tools and solutions could provide value to external users.
      • Experience with modern software development practices, engineering platforms, automation, and productivity tooling.
      • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, agentic tools, and emerging technologies is highly valuable.
      • Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams while influencing stakeholders through data and technical expertise.
      • Experience transitioning internal tools or platforms into customer-facing products is considered an advantage.
