This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the FUSION OPERATIONS BRANCH (REIMB)-J3 Develops and presents strategic recommendations to leadership for enhancing technical communication systems integration within Defense Cyber Operations (DCO). Leads capability analysis/assessments of joint operational capabilities (i.e., processes and tools) and develops a requirement document that discusses findings, issues, capability requirements and gaps. Plans, organizes, and executes the study and review of a variety of complex, technical communications problems, issues, and vulnerabilities across all three layers of Cyberspace Operations (Physical, Logical, and Persona). Leverages professional methods and work efforts to conduct current interoperability research and technology evaluation and investigates areas that may pose potential opportunities for enhancement or identify possible vulnerabilities. Establishes and maintains appropriate working relationships with Federal entities, industry, and the private sector via participations in Federal workgroups and governance bodies, scientific and academic working groups.
