R&D Engr/Scientist I
As an R&D Engr/Scientist I - RF at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design, simulation and analysis of RF and radar systems for advanced products and applications. You will work with a multidisciplinary engineering team on antennas, antenna arrays, microwave circuits and radar subsystems, using ANSYS HFSS for electromagnetic simulation, AWR Microwave Office for RF and microwave circuit design, and MATLAB and Python for modelling, automation, data analysis and radar-signal-processing tasks. This role is suited to an engineer with strong fundamentals, relevant software experience and a willingness to learn through engineering design and simulation.
- Design, model and optimize RF and microwave components, antennas, antenna arrays, feed networks and related subsystems for specified frequency bands and performance requirements.
- Create and validate full-wave electromagnetic models in ANSYS HFSS, including geometry definition, material assignment, ports, boundary conditions, meshing, parametric sweeps and optimization.
- Use AWR Microwave Office for RF and microwave circuit design, matching-network development, S-parameter analysis, tuning, optimization and circuit-to-EM co-simulation.
- Develop MATLAB and Python scripts for engineering calculations, simulation automation, visualization, radar performance analysis and algorithm prototyping.
- Analyse antenna and microwave performance using parameters such as return loss, VSWR, insertion loss, isolation, gain, efficiency, radiation patterns, polarization and bandwidth.
- Support radar-system studies involving link budgets, radar range calculations, waveform analysis, beamforming, detection performance and range-Doppler processing, as applicable to the project.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, simulation reports, presentations and design-review material.
Collaborate with RF, antenna, radar, mechanical, embedded-software and systems engineers throughout the product-development lifecycle
