The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network. 

The newly created U.S. Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution & Analytics (UMGEA) team is responsible for leveraging marketing and analytics capabilities to drive sustainable growth through customer, partner, and product insights that inform the merchant value proposition, channel strategy, and investment optimization, while leveraging the full range of enterprise assets and partnerships for GMNS customers and ensuring we remain compliant as a network. 

The GMNS Analytics team within UMGEA is responsible for partnering with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerating acceptance and amplifying the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants, bank partners and Card Members at scale. We offer powerful data and actionable insights to attract new businesses to engage with Amex, help existing businesses improve performance and capitalize on new opportunities.

The UMGEA – Global Analytics team is seeking a Manager, Analytics to lead analytics and reporting that ensure compliance with evolving regulatory & Policy requirements across the globe. 

The role combines deep analytical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement, ensuring that reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned to enterprise standards while also enabling broader business insights across merchant portfolios. This individual will partner closely with compliance, risk, and global analytics teams to embed robust reporting processes and drive continuous improvement through automation and advanced analytics. 

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Policy & Regulatory reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to jurisdictional requirements. 
  • Translate complex, evolving regulatory requirements into scalable data models, reporting pipelines, and automated dashboards and identify business implications. 
  • Shape and evolve the team’s analytics strategy, aligning initiatives with GMNS business priorities and emerging external trends. 
  • Partner with global stakeholders to identify business implications of policy guidelines. 
  • Drive automation of key analytics data creation processes to improve speed to market and reduce operational risk. 
  • Leverage emerging technologies — including GenAI and machine learning — to transform and scale insight generation capabilities. 
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise governance standards, data quality expectations, and ethical analytics practices. 
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing, diverse, and engaged analytics team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. 

  • 4+ years of experience in data or analytics functions with a strong business acumen. 
  • Intellectual curiosity, agility, and quick learning skills to bring structure to shifting priorities, managing multiple demands, and ambiguity. 
  • The ability to drive insights from data, manage multiple projects, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, able to challenge the status quo and inspiring a team. 
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence at all levels. 
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Google Bigquery, SQL, R, Python, Lumi, PySpark and Tableau. 
  • Experience in the merchant business preferred. 
  • Experience in Machine Learning/ Cloud / Gen AI is a plus. 

Academic Background: 

  • Bachelors in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering/Data Science with relevant experience
