From the food you eat, to the water you drink, to the medicines you rely on, Eurofins laboratories work with the biggest companies in the world to ensure the products they supply are safe, their ingredients are authentic, and labelling is accurate.The Eurofins network is dedicated to delivering testing services that contribute to the health and safety of society and the planet, and to its corporate responsibility to protect the environment and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion across its companies around the world.We’re proud to be an armed forces-friendly place to work and welcome applications from reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), as well as cadet instructors, and military spouses and partners.If you want to continue to help make our world a safer and healthier place, then apply for the role below and become a part of the extraordinary Eurofins networkJob DescriptionThe role of Laboratory Technicians is to prepare and analyse customer food samples keeping in mind efficiency, quality and accuracy standards as required by the company.  Upon commencement of employment a training plan will be initiated for the Technician and will be discussed with the Technician as part of their development plan. This is a full time role working 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 11:45 till 20:00 and Friday 11:30 till 20:00. Training shift for the first few weeks will be Monday to Friday 10:00 till 18:15. No laboratory experience requires, full training will be provided. Preparation of food samples for analysis.Become competent in the laboratory work practices and requirements that facilitate analysis.Become familiar with all relevant laboratory test methods and procedures i.e. SOP’s.Ensure that all client samples are tested on time, and notify a Senior Technician / Laboratory Manager of any time delays.Accurately log samples into the system in a timely manner.Complete all documentation on time, accurately and legibly.Check weights and temperatures in line with company procedures.Ensure that the laboratory is stocked with pipettes, autoclave bags etc.Ensure Compliance to the 17025 standard at all times by adhering to the in house quality procedures providedKeep their training sheets up to date and initiate training where possible when able to do so.Adhere to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying a Senior Technician or Laboratory Manager of any discrepancies.Keep the laboratory area clean and tidy.Clean laboratory equipment as required, including fridges, incubators water baths etc.Ensure that all sanitiser bottles and beakers are filled and changed regularly and the correct control labels are attached to them.Ensure that there are no reagents or media available in the laboratory that have past their expiry date.Ensure that all documentation relating to customer samples is filed.Take part in proficiency testing as instructed by a Senior Technician.Provide cover for other members of staff as required and participating in the Weekend Rota.Be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.QualificationsGood communication skills both written and verbal. To be a good team player. Be organised and quality orientated. Problem solving skillsTo be customer focusedPunctual and reliable. Additional InformationAt Eurofins we are growing, innovating and always learning.
