The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Experimental Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as a Lead DevSecOps System Architect.
Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid development to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products and services for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal authoring, architecture, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration. You will provide technical leadership and ensure modern, best practices across programs and product lines, in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Technical:
- Leads the design, implementation, and sustainment of secure DevSecOps pipelines and automation capabilities in air-gapped and on-premises environments.
- Architects and maintains Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions to support repeatable provisioning, configuration, and deployment in disconnected environments.
- Establishes and governs secure container build, storage, transfer, and deployment processes for isolated networks and restricted-access systems.
- Provides technical leadership for integration, deployment, and test environments through standardization, access control, and baseline management.
- Troubleshoots complex platforms, application, infrastructure, and security issues across development, integration, test, and deployment boundaries.
- Leads implementation of automated testing, monitoring, and validation capabilities to improve reliability, traceability, and mission readiness.
- Apply observability, metrics, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement of DevSecOps tools, processes, and system performance.
- Guides remediation of security vulnerabilities and implementation of compliance controls within secure, disconnected enterprise environments.
- Product Owner:
- Leads stakeholder engagement to define priorities, drive consensus, and align DevSecOps product direction with program needs.
- Partners with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, senior leadership, and external customers to gather requirements, drive implementation, and support adoption of DevSecOps capabilities.
- Owns DevSecOps product planning and execution to ensure delivery of secure, mission-aligned capabilities.
- Coordinates cross-functional teams to drive implementation of DevSecOps enhancements and support adoption.
- Provides leadership for DevSecOps roadmap execution, backlog prioritization, and performance tracking.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle (including requirements analysis, design, code, integration & test)
- 5+ years of experience leading software teams and/or projects
- 5+ years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps) and/or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps)
- 5+ years of experience with test automation
- Experience working in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) using appropriate code versioning, build and test automation tools
- Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Experience deploying and sustaining Docker and Kubernetes solutions in air-gapped environments, including cluster administration, orchestration, automation, security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud-based container platforms such as AWS
- Proficient with the GitLab ecosystem
- Maintains a Security+ or equivalent certification
- Proficient with modern software development methodologies
- Proficient with a variety of software development languages, tools and techniques
- Experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
