As a Transaction Specialist I within Transaction Operations, you process and clear transactions with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and a strong customer experience. You work within established procedures while meeting production expectations in a high-volume environment, and you help us identify opportunities to improve how work gets done. You partner with teammates and adjacent teams to resolve issues, apply automation, and support reliable end-to-end processing.

Job responsibilities

  • Process and clear transactions in line with established procedures and service standards
  • Maintain accuracy and productivity while meeting daily production targets
  • Respond to customer requests, including balance inquiries and account maintenance, with professionalism and care
  • Research transaction questions and resolve routine exceptions using defined guidelines
  • Escalate non-standard or non-routine issues to a supervisor or senior team member following documented protocols
  • Apply automation and digital tools to support efficient transaction processing and account servicing
  • Monitor transactions to identify patterns and trends and support process improvements using basic data analysis
  • Maintain working knowledge of product definitions, operating procedures, and upstream and downstream process flows
  • Document actions taken and updates required to support consistent, auditable processing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support accurate transaction reporting and timely issue resolution

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential
  • Baseline knowledge of transaction processing activities, including clearing, servicing, researching, and settling transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to follow prescribed instructions, procedures, and protocols with minimal variance
  • Ability to manage routine customer inquiries, including balance inquiries and account maintenance
  • Ability to use digital tools to complete transaction processing and support account servicing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance, including Public Trust clearance, as a condition of employment
  • Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background screening required for the Government Security Clearance process
  • Ability to sit up to 95% of the time and stand up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to walk up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Experience using automation technologies to improve transaction processing efficiency
  • Experience handling transaction conflicts or exceptions within defined procedures and escalating appropriately when needed
  • Experience using basic data analysis to identify transaction trends and recommend process improvements
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support accurate reporting and operational outcomes
