The Commercial Data Office (CoDO) is an exciting and fast-paced, entrepreneurial team delivering the data strategy and innovation for GCS. Through a collaborative partnership with the Enterprise Chief Data Office, CoDO aims to unlock new data opportunities, ensure best-in-class data operations, and maximize growth and retention by supporting product, marketing, and segment strategies.
The Commercial Data Quality & Capabilities Enablement (DQCE) team drives a robust line of defense for GCS by advising partners on how to balance business growth with appropriate controls. On behalf of our high-profile customers and programs, we serve as the end-to-end process owner, leading cross-functional teams, and projects to remediate data issues, drive policy, and optimize process.
We are seeking a driven, strategic, and innovative professional to fill our Sr Manager, Data Governance & Mgmt, position in DQCE team. This individual will be responsible for developing and owning data risk management product delivery roadmaps and backlogs and aligning release scope and sequencing in partnership with the engineering team. The professional would be leading a team of Product Owners.
This role will report to the Director DQCE, Commercial Data Office.
Your Primary Responsibilities may include:
Developing and owning data risk management product delivery roadmaps and backlogs and aligning release scope and sequencing in partnership with the engineering team.
Support development of tools and capabilities for scalable data risk management, supporting data governance and risk management policies.
Manage and groom a team of Product Owners to enable delivery of the Product Roadmap.
Preferred experience supporting risk and compliance functions with understanding of industry frameworks and best practices for mitigation of data risk
Coordinating across multiple teams to manage interdependencies and roadmaps — critical for avoiding any overlaps with EDM initiatives.
Driving discovery, solutioning, and delivery in partnership with data risk management workstreams stakeholders through a clear product framework and agile processes, including standardized product team ceremonies like daily standup, sprint planning and publishing testing artifacts.
Enhancing agile practices to reduce waste, improve throughput, and maximize delivery of value.
Providing regular leadership updates on progress and key milestones.
Creating and monitoring user stories and ensuring timely completion of the same
Ensuring product governance, controls, and testing are embedded within delivery plans.
Additionally, exposure to Data Quality (DQ) initiatives will be a strong plus, along with a solid understanding of SQL for data analysis and profiling.
- Participate in project team meetings and communicate effectively with peers, architects, system analysts, project managers & others, reporting project status as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-5 years of direct work experience in product development & solution designing
- Strong people leadership experience is preferred.
- Understand business objectives, convert them to data requirements & technical needs and get it implemented by technology using agile framework
- Strong experience in agile development and backlog management.
- Prior experience in lending, financial services or hi-tech domains preferred with good understanding of data risk management
- Expertise in end-to-end automation of solutions
- Ability to manage technical, regulatory as well as communication complexity in large multi-workstream initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of current and upcoming data governance, data management and data product techniques and trends, with a point of view on the evolving concepts and best practices
- Ability to work with white space to design and execute solutions to solve complex challenges
- Strong communication skills, both in terms of preparing and delivering a strategic vision and updates
- Ability to put enterprise thinking first, connect the role’s agenda to enterprise priorities and balance the needs of customers, partners, colleagues & shareholders.
