Accountabilities:

    The Sr/Staff Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data solutions that support real-time analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making. This role requires strong technical expertise, ownership of complex engineering initiatives, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

    • Design and implement scalable data streaming solutions to process and analyze real-time data efficiently.
    • Develop and maintain robust batch and real-time data pipelines, including data extraction, transformation, orchestration, and ETL processes.
    • Build and manage large-scale data warehouses, datamarts, and certified datasets to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
    • Integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring accuracy, consistency, reliability, and accessibility.
    • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
    • Optimize data workflows, monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable data delivery.
    • Apply security, governance, and compliance standards across data engineering solutions.
    • Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor production-ready data platforms and applications.
    • Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code with appropriate testing practices.
    • Participate in operational support activities, including troubleshooting production issues and contributing to a 24/7 on-call rotation.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, analytics, and machine learning.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineering professional with a strong background in building scalable data platforms, modern data architectures, and cloud-based solutions. Success in this role requires technical depth, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams.

      • Minimum 6 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, database management, or a related technical field.
      • Strong programming experience with languages such as Python, SQL, and Java.
      • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
      • Experience developing ETL processes and working with cloud-based data solutions.
      • Familiarity with database technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, and modern lakehouse platforms such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Trino.
      • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Apache Flink, or Apache Spark.
      • Hands-on experience with data pipelines, orchestration tools, datamart development, and certified datasets.
      • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, source control systems, and tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
      • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
      • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Ability to adapt quickly, learn new technologies, and thrive in a continuously evolving environment.
      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
      • Experience with cloud platforms, Agile methodologies, open-source technologies, Jupyter, or geospatial data processing is a plus.
      • Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, aviation, shipping, or other high-tech industries is preferred.
